Make a difference while you run!
The Running for Innocence team offers an amazing way to directly engage in the fight against wrongful convictions. By joining the team, you become part of a community of runners who are committed to making a difference for innocence. Runners commit to help the New England Innocence Project by raising funds to pay for the experts and investigators needed to help give the more than 40 men and women whose cases NEIP is currently reviewing a fighting chance to prove their innocence.
Run with us on November 5th in Lexington!
The easiest way to get started is to join Running for Innocence for one of our upcoming team events. This November, the team will be running in the Genesis Battlegreen 10K/5K run (you choose the length). This will be our third year running in this fantastic, well-supported 10K course (with a 5K option and a walk option for those not up to running the longer distance), and we hope to make it our biggest team ever. We encourage all runners who care about this important issue to join our team and help us raise money and awareness for the many systemic causes of wrongful convictions. All you need to do is (1) register yourself on the race website, and select “running for innocence” as your team; (2) email us at email@example.com to let us know you’re registered; and (3) create a personalized fundraising page by “joining the team” here and start fundraising!
Can’t make it on November 5th?
You can still make a difference with your running in just a few short steps:
1. Let us know you want to help! Send us an email so that we can add your name to our team list and start sending you team updates with upcoming events and runs. Email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. Already running something else? Consider making it a fundraiser too! Event of any distance make a difference. We will help you set up a personal fundraising page so that you can share the link with friends and family through email, Facebook, or other forms of social media. We will also help you personalize your page with photographs or written updates on your training progress, and provide you with advice on how to maximize your fundraising efforts.
