Make a difference while you run!
The Running for Innocence team offers an amazing way to directly engage in the fight against wrongful convictions. By joining the team, you become part of a community of runners who are committed to making a difference for innocence. Runners commit to help the New England Innocence Project by raising funds to pay for the experts and investigators needed to help give the more than 40 men and women whose cases NEIP is currently reviewing a fighting chance to prove their innocence and to successfully reenter our community when they achieve their freedom.
Our 2018 upcoming runs are now posted!
The easiest way to get started is to join Running for Innocence for one of our upcoming team events. Our 2018 running schedule has just been posted, and includes the Newburyport River Run 5K/Half Marathon (May 6, 2018) and the Lexington Genesis Battlegreen 5K/10K Run (November 4, 2018). We are also in the process of planning our first full length marathon as a team, the Baystate Marathon (October 21, 2018). Whatever the distance, we welcome your participation in our team!
Here’s how you can make a difference with your running in just a few short steps:
1. Let us know you want to help! Send us an email so that we can add your name to our team list and start sending you team updates with upcoming events and runs. Email address is email@example.com.
2. Tell us which event you want to run! Although the registrations are not yet open for our three planned 2018 runs, it’s not too soon to start planning. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you’d like to be included on the team list for an upcoming event!
3. Already running something else? Consider making it a fundraiser too! Event of any distance make a difference. We will help you set up a personal fundraising page so that you can share the link with friends and family through email, Facebook, or other forms of social media. We will also help you personalize your page with photographs or written updates on your training progress, and provide you with advice on how to maximize your fundraising efforts.
